for the kin of the night

I love Atlanta. Very colorful place. Although I was raised in Florida, and will always consider Florida my home, I absolutely love Atlanta.

One of my first memories of Atlanta is whenever I was about six years old. My mother and I were walking through downtown. Across the street there was a homeless man with a dingy brown beard screaming about how "Everyone is going to die, we're all going to hell. REPENT.....REPENT".

I was in Awe that this guy could just stand there and scream these things. I asked my mom "Who's that". She said "He's a crazy person honny, don't listen to him, don't even look at him. Common baby let's go".

About two months later (this is me thinking back to being a kid, so it could have been three weeks, or almost a year, but for sake of telling the story let's say two, maybe three months).
We were back in Atlanta, and we were driving around looking for a place to park probably. And I looked over to where a man was wearing a suit, holding a bible. A small crowd had gathered around him. He was yelling something about "How we're all going to hell, We better be right whenever we die, We're going to hell unless we REPENT...REPENT BEFORE IT'S TO LATE.

I said "look mom another crazy person". She replies "No baby that's a preacher, roll down your window and try to listen to what he's saying".

I trusted what my mother was saying, although I didn't understand the logic. It's been almost 25 years since that day, and I still don't understand that logic.
